Mark A. Templin is an associate professor at the University of Toledo in Curriculum
and Instruction. Dr. Templin received his Ph. D. in science education from the University
of Michigan in 1998. An experienced science teacher, he currently teaches science
education courses in the middle grades licensure program and courses for graduate
students specializing in science education. His publications have appeared in the
American Biology Teacher, American Educational Research Journal, Journal of the Learning Sciences, School Science and Mathematics Journal, and The Science Teacher. He has also made presentations at numerous national, regional and local conferences.
His research interests focus on the improvement of science classroom learning environments
and classroom assessment in science. He is an active member of the American Educational
Research Association, The National Association of Research in Science Teaching, the
Association for Education of Teachers and Science, The School Science and Mathematics
Association, and The National Science Teachers Association.
