William (Bill) Gray received his Ed.D. in Educational Psychology and Statistics from
SUNY at Albany in 1970. He has taught courses in child
development, adolescent development, parenting, Piagetian theory, thinking and reasoning,
theories of development, and statistical analysis via
computers. He has been the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and, presently,
he is the Interim Chair of the Department of
Educational Foundations and Leadership. His continuing research interests have focused
on adolescent and adult thinking and reasoning with a
specific focus on formal operations. In addition, he has strong interests in the
effects of parenting styles on children and adolescents,
as well as theories of development.. Dr. Gray has served on the Board of Directors
of the Jean Piaget Society, as the Society’s vice
president for four years, and the Society’s treasurer for four years. He is on the
editorial board of the Journal of Adult
Development and he is an ad hoc reviewer for several other development journals.
