Max Baumgartner, PhD, PT, OCS has more than 20 years of experience in the physical therapy profession. In 1996 he completed a year-long fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy at the Institute of Physical Therapy in Saint Augustine Florida. He is a certified orthopaedic manual therapist, and in 1997 he was granted fellowship status with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). In 1999, after 7 years of clinical practice, he entered academia as an assistant professor at the University of Findlay Master of Physical Therapy program. In 2000 he was granted certification as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. From 2005-2007 he served as chair of the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Owens Community College before accepting his current faculty position at the University of Toledo. Dr. Baumgartner’s current teaching responsibilities include Gross Anatomy, Analysis of Movement, Therapeutic Exercise, and Management of Complex Patients.
