The Department
of Civil Engineering offers five courses which have laboratory components and
one which requires field surveying:
- CIVE 1000: Freshman CE

Engineering

Measurements and CAD for CE’s, the students work outdoors as part of survey
teams.
The Department
has five laboratories in Nitschke Hall which primarily service undergraduate
laboratory courses:
- Nitschke Hall 1024:
The Banyas Soil Mechanics Laboratory
- Nitschke Hall 1073:
The bituminous materials laboratory
- Nitschke Hall 1095:
The water supply and waste water treatment laboratory
- Nitschke Hall 1074:
The concrete laboratory
- Nitschke Hall 1098:
The mechanics of materials laboratory
The physical facilities are inspected approximately twice a year
by the Toledo Fire Marshall and the University of Toledo Safety and Risk
Management Department. The University also provides hazardous waste disposal.
