Engineers Week 2018 Activities

The University of Toledo College of Engineering will recognize Engineers Week with various activities held Feb. 18-24, 2018.

The annual “E-week” was started by the national organization, DiscoverE, to celebrate how engineers make a difference in the world, increase public dialogue about the need for engineers, and bring engineering to life for students, educators and parents.

Spearheaded by the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement and the Office of Undergraduate Studies at the College of Engineering, events have been planned in the spirit of E-week. Listed by date, highlights for the week include:

Sunday - February 18 
  • Discover Engineering - fun for elementary-aged students and families
    • 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. - "Dream Big" movie
    • 2:45 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Hands-on activities offered by current UT College of Engineering students
 

Tuesday - Feb 20

• Engineer for a Day,  For Area high school students

    • 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - Welcome/"Dream Big" movie
    • 9:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Tour UT’s engineering facilities
    • 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. - Lunch with College of Engineering students and professional engineers
    • 12:30 p.m. - Spend the afternoon shadowing a practicing engineering professional in the community

Wednesday - Feb 21

Spring Career Expo, 12:30 p.m., Engineering Complex. More than 140 companies will visit campus to meet with approximately 600 UT engineering students and graduates. More info here.

Thursday - Feb 22

Introduce a Girl to Engineering - by invitation only - for female students from Toledo area junior high schools
