Biography

Dr. Pourazady is currently Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toledo. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1985. Dr. Pourazady research specialties are in the area of Finite Element Analysis, and Computer Aided Design. For the last ten years, he has been involved in research projects related to Finite Element Analysis and Shape Optimization of Machine Components.

Dr. Pourazady has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of Finite Element methods, Vibrations, Dynamics, Kinematics, and Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. He has supervised and served as the Chairman of MSME Thesis Committee for 16 graduate students in the MIME Department at the University of Toledo.

  • Finite Element Simulation of Metal Forming Processes,
  • Mesh Generation and Adaptive Mesh Refinement,
  • Geometric Modeling of Spiral Bevel Gears.
