A new outdoor monument on UT’s campus, honoring members of the nation’s military services, will be dedicated—appropriately—on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The dedication for the Veterans’ Plaza, located outside the newly renovated Memorial Field House, will begin at 11 a.m. The public event will include comments from Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur and Col. David Sutherland, Middle East Region, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. In addition, the event will feature a military flyover by the 180th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard.
The $250,000 project was funded entirely through private donations, including many by individuals in honor or in memory of loved ones who served in the military.
