Vern Snyder, UT vice president for institutional advancement, has earned the highest professional credential from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
Mr. Snyder is one of only 90 people in the nation to earn the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive certification and joins Ken Frisch of Hospice of Northwest Ohio as the only two in northwest Ohio.
The Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive Program is the most rigorous fundraising certification process available. It includes a comprehensive application detailing achievements in practice, education, publishing, teaching and service to the profession; a written exam; a portfolio of professional work; and an oral peer review.
“Under Vern’s leadership, this University has made tremendous strides reaching out to donors, telling the story of this institution, and raising funds to further the teaching, research and outreach of The University of Toledo for current and future students and faculty,” said UT President Lloyd Jacobs. “This certification provides evidence of what we at UT already knew: We have a tremendous friend and colleague in Vern Snyder.”
Mr. Snyder joined UT in 2001. Over his fundraising career, he has conducted seven capital campaigns, raising more than $300 million.
