Clinical Education

In addition to classroom and laboratory-based learning, students are required to complete a minimum of 900 clinical education contact hours.  Under the direction and supervision of a certified athletic trainer, students are given the opportunity to observe and participate in patient care.

Clinical education sites include UT’s intercollegiate sports medicine department as well as a number of local high schools and sports medicine clinics.  Students will be exposed to a variety of settings including contact, non-contact, upper extremity, lower extremity, men’s and women’s sports.
