The purpose of the Health Disparities Research Collaborative is to engage in innovative translational research that reduces health disparities, improves health equity, and creates opportunities for social justice.

Background: Significant, on-going health disparities caused by inequities in the social determinants of health are an immediate concern to Public Health. Increasingly, there is a need to develop meaningful collaborations between multiple sectors to address the complex and diverse factors that contribute to health disparities.

Mission: The purpose of the Health Disparities Research Collaborative is to engage in innovative translational research that reduces health disparities, improves health equity, and creates opportunities for social justice.

• Health as a fundamental human right
• Interdisciplinary collaborative research and translational science
• Community engaged partnerships and capacity building
• Training the next generation of Public Health researchers, teachers, and practitioners to meet the complex needs of individuals and communities
