Assistant Athletic Trainer

Currently in her second year with the University of Toledo, Sara McGriff is
an assistant athletic trainer working directly with the Lady Rockets’
basketball team and overseeing the women’s swimming and diving, women’s
tennis, and volleyball teams.
Hailing from LaPorte, Indiana, Sara earned her Bachelor of Science degree in
Athletic Training from Ball State University in 2002. Sara spent the next two
years as a graduate assistant at the University of Georgia, where she earned
her M.Ed. in Exercise and Sport Science while working with the men’s and
women’s swimming and diving teams. The women’s swimming and diving
teams finished second at the NCAA Championships both years. In July 2004, Sara
worked the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, where two of her Georgia swimmers qualified
for the United States Olympic Team.
Sara was a recipient of the NATA Research and Education Foundation Scholarship,
and she is an Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate. She was certified by
the BOC in 2002 and licensed by the State of Ohio in 2004. She is a member of
the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Great Lakes Athletic Trainer's
Association.
