Master of Arts in Criminal Justice/Juris Doctor Degree
The Department of Criminal Justice and the College of Law offer a joint degree program leading to the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and the Juris Doctor. The degree is excellent preparation for students interested in practicing criminal law, working as counsel to criminal justice or social service agencies, and for those interested in teaching criminal law.
Applicants must be admitted to both the Master of Arts program and by the College of Law. A minimum of 98 hours of coursework is required to earn the joint degree. The first year of study is devoted entirely to College of Law coursework. Beginning in the second year, a mix of criminal justice and law courses are taken.
