Research Focus
Our research focuses on the immunobiology of skeletal muscle after exercise. Specifically, we are interested in determining the function of inflammatory cells (neutrophils and macrophages) in skeletal muscle after exercise and the mechanisms for how skeletal muscle modulates neutrophil and macrophage activation after exercise. We use human, rodent, and cell culture models and contemporary laboratory techniques to answer basic and applied questions in these areas.
