    Elder Law Information

    Thank you for your interest in The University of Toledo’s new On-Line Certificate in Elder Law.   This Master’s-level program will help professionals, such as yourself, work with the growing elderly population.  Because it is the only totally on-line Elder Law program from an accredited university anywhere in the country, I’m confident that your completion of the On-Line Certificate in Elder Law will become an important credential in your professional career.

    The curriculum in this exciting new program will cover topics such as:

    ·         Contemporary legal and ethical issues regarding the elderly;
    ·         Long-term and hospice care;
    ·         Guardianship;
    ·         Housing;
    ·         Age discrimination;
    ·         Elder abuse;
    ·         Estate planning; and
    ·         End-of-life decision making.

    This new program consists of five courses which can be completed – totally on-line – in only two semesters.  The program will begin this Summer Semester – starting May 18th.  Students will take three law courses in the Summer (all taught by attorneys); then the remaining two courses in the Fall Semester (taught by experts in gerontology).  The attached brochure highlights those courses and the dates for both Summer and Fall semesters.

    Summer Semester   9 credit hrs. X $434.00 = $3,906
    Fall Semester            6 credit hrs. X $434.00 = $2,604
