Albert T. Quick served as Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Toledo College of Law from July 1995 until July 1999, continuing his service with the University of Toledo in the Provost’s office until his retirement in December 1999. He now holds the title of Dean and Professor of Law Emeritus.

Dean Quick earned a B.A. from the University of Arizona, and M.A. from Central Michigan University, a J.D. from Wayne State University College of Law and an LL.M. from Tulane University College of Law.

He began his legal career with the law firms of Langs, Molyneaux & Armstrong (Detroit, MI) and Hatch and Hatch (Marshall, MI). He also served as an assistant prosecutor in Calhoun County, Michigan.

His academic career began as Director and professor of the Criminal Justice Division at the University of Maine, followed by a professorship at the University of Louisville’s Brandeis College of Law and service as a special assistant to the university’s provost. He was then appointed Dean and Professor of Law at Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law and, subsequently, Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Toledo College of Law.

Since retiring from the University of Toledo, Dean Quick has taught several semesters, as a visitor, at the Barry University College of Law and Jilin University College of Law in Changchun, China. Currently, he is “Of Counsel” with the law firm of Smith, Haughey, Rice & Roegge.

Dean Quick’s primary areas of expertise are Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law and Civil Rights.
