Nicole B. Porter, professor of law and associate dean for academic affairs, has been named the 2011-2012 Faculty Club Award recipient on The University of Toledo’s Main Campus by the Faculty Club’s Board of Directors.

According to Karen Hoblet, a professor in the College of Nursing and the Faculty Club’s president, the award is in recognition of the mentoring, support, and service that Porter provides to students and fellow faculty, as well as her involvement and leadership in developing the joint J.D./M.D. program

Porter joined the College of Law faculty in 2007. She teaches employment discrimination, employment law, disability discrimination, contracts, criminal law, and feminist legal theory courses. Her research focuses on the employment rights of women and individuals with disabilities. Porter graduated from the University of Michigan Law School with honors, magna cum laude, and she is a member of the Order of the Coif.

The Faculty Club recognizes University faculty members “who have performed outstanding service to the institution” each year.
