Historical/Biographical Sketch

Stephen Stranahan served as a UT Board Member from 1967-1977 and as Chairman of the Board from 1972-1977. He was involved with fund raising significantly, heading the Centennial Fund and the Individual Donations Committee. He worked to get university trustees exempt from the Ohio State Bill EC-3 which devised to force all those working for the state in an official capacity to disclose financial information. Stranahan resigned from the UT Board when this effort failed.

Stephen Stranahan is President of Entelco Corp. in Perrysburg, Ohio, a Toledo holding company, and President of Webstrand Corp., a real estate company. He is director of Questor Corp., the First National Bank of Toledo, and Bharat Steel Tubes, Ltd., New Delhi, India.

Stranahan is a member of the many community service organizations, including the Toledo Orchestra Association, Downtown Toledo Associates, Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce and Clear Water, Inc. He was Toledo’s Outstanding Young Man of the Year 1967 and in 1968, was named Pacemaker of the Year.
