You can find books in other libraries using the OhioLINK Central Catalog or WorldCat.
OhioLINK is a consortium of most colleges and universities throughout the state of Ohio. The OhioLink catalog is an online database of
the holdings of the membership along with an increasing number of large public libraries. The information available is similar to what you would
find in UTMOST, only more, about twenty five times more. From UTMost you can extend your search directly into the OhioLink central catalog using
the “Search Ohiolink” button found on each page with a list or record on it. OhioLink catalog gathers a total of over 26 million
titles of books, films, periodicals and other types of materials from its member libraries. The search engine for Ohiolink is identical to the
one for UTMost. Except that each record has a “Request This Item” link and will work, if the item is available and not a periodical.
WorldCAT is a world catalog that is available to subscribing libraries, University of Toledo is one of those libraries. It proves
valuable when a user can't find a title in UTMOST or OhioLINK. If you search WorldCAT, you can verify the existence of a work and determine the
correct title. WorldCAT also shows libraries that own the item. So if University of Toledo owns something it will show up here as well and that
will be indicated in the record after the link Libraries Worldwide: 2960 (the number of libraries holding the item) then
UNIV OF TOLEDO.. WorldCat indexes over
56 million items not including the selected Worldwide Web sites. When searched, the catalog not only
gives a summarized list of results, it also creates tabs for limiting by format such as books only, serials or periodicals only, Internet sites,
and so on. The Internet sites have all been recommended for inclusion into WorldCat by librarians and their links are tested automatically.
WorldCat can be accessed through the OhioLink Research Databases List by Name.
