TOLEDO SCALE

Toledo Scale, Style No. 383D (1929)

The item (on loan from the Maumee Valley Historical Society) disaplayed on the pedestal exemplifies the variety of scales produced by the company. The Toledo Scale Company spread the city’s name around the world.  This impressive “gold” Toledo Scale shows off not only the company’s engineering skill, but its ability to make a practical item aesthetically beautiful.  A similar scale was featured in one of the paintings of Toledo Scale workers done by Georges LaChance, 1928-1929.
