ACLS Course - 3rd Year Medical Students

Date: 2/17/2018  •  Time: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM;
Location: This skill session will be held in Lloyd Jacobs Immersive Simulation Center.

The two-day format is conducted over 2 sessions and is designed specifically for 3rd year medical students at the University of Toledo. Participants must attend a designated lecture session and then must attend a skill session. The course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation arrest and ventricular tachycardia arrest.

This specific class is intended for 3rd Year Medical Students enrolled at the University of Toledo.

Must complete the 2015 Precourse Assessment with a minimum of 70%, found at the AHA's Student website, and bring the printed results to submit when arriving to check-in at the Skill session. Also must have attended the Video/Lecture session prior to attending the Skill session and within the same school year.

- Attended both Video/Lecture and the Hands-On sessions within the same school
year (unless otherwise approved by Life Support Director)
- Satisfactory performance as a team leader in a hands-on cardiac scenario and
demonstration of sufficient knowledge of ACLS algorithms.
-Post written examination of 84% minimum.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider Manual (2015 version) which is supplied by the College of Medicine thru the Life Support Training Department. Textbooks are distributed sometime during the IM orientation week. Students may also decide to purchase their own thru the AHA at: shopcpr.heart.org.
