This One and One-half day course includes BLS (CPR) certification as well as ACLS certification. The BLS will be a combination of on-line precourse preparation and hands-on classroom skills checkoff. The remaining time will be spent with covering ACLS material. This course is specifically for incoming residents at the University of Toledo. The ACLS portion is designed to help prepare the student to assess and manage the first few minutes of an adult cardiac event following recommeded guidleines by the American Heart Association. |

BLS On-line training: Each student will need an authorization code for the on-line BLS training. Each student will also need the current ACLS Provider textbook (ISBN 9781616690106). |

Prerequisite: |
Prior experience and education in Cardiac Pharmacology & EKG Interpretation is strongly recommended for success. Students must complete the On-line BLS training and the ACLS Precourse Assessment prior to attending class. Also, students must view the ACS and Stroke videos (also found on the AHA's student website) prior to attending class. |
| Course Completion
Requirements: |
-Attendance at the entire course.
-Satisfactory performance as a team leader in a hands-on cardiac scenario.
-Successful completion of the required skills stations for both BLS and ACLS.
-Post written examination of 84% minimum.
