Fall 2016 will be my 33rd Fall Semester teaching at the University, starting with Fall Quarter 1984. I love teaching Composition I in the Fall because I get students straight from High School, eager to learn, and fun to teach.  I have also taught many classes of Eng. 2950 and 2960 over the decades. On the first day of class, I give students a point of contact of how to reach me 24/7, whether by email, texting, or by phone. My focus is getting students “job ready,” since for many, this may be their last English class they will take before they graduate.

I received both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in English here at the University of Toledo, so my roots are deep in the Toledo area on many levels. During the last 46 years I have worked at Banks in Mortgages, at Owens-Corning as a Technical Writer, as a Copywriter for Marketing Firms, as a Proofreader for local newspapers and tabloids, and at present still do Free Lance Writing and Bird and Nature Photography for Online Blogs and Magazines.

When not teaching, or tutoring (at present I tutor 2 Sylvania elementary and secondary students daily after classes), I love to participate in nature photography especially birds at local nature reserves, prairies, parks, and marshes. The rest of the time, I travel, have fun  converting my home grounds into Native pollinator habitats, and enjoy area community entertainment venues.
