Family Medicine Residency

Curriculum

Through broad-based educational experiences in both community and university hospitals, a model group practice, and select private practices, you will receive a structured education in all required areas of family medicine. Our program includes practice management and behavior science curriculum to better prepare you for the demands of a family practice. In addition, three months of electives in your third year enable you to explore areas of interest or strengthen your clinical knowledge and skill base.

All residents are required to spend a set amount of time in our model family practice center. First year residents spend one half day per week seeing patients; second year residents spend two-three half-days per week; and third year residents spend four half-days per week.
