We evaluate and treat persons with multiple sclerosis (and evaluate persons in whom multiple sclerosis is suspected).  Diagnostic testing may include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain or spinal cord, evoked potential studies, or lumbar puncture. 

While there are at least 10 FDA-approved treatments for multiple sclerosis, there is still no cure, and the cause remains unknown.  If appropriate, treatment is administered at the University of Toledo Medical Center infusion center.  Treatment is also aimed at symptoms caused by MS.  The Department of Neurology also works with subspecialties including neuro-ophthalmology, urology, physical medicine & rehabilitation, neuropsychiatry, and physical and occupational therapists.
