The Department of Neurology is a regional leader in neurological care with faculty representing all major neurological subspecialties.  The Neurology Department consists of a dedicated team of physicians, allied health professionals and support staff that provide primary and consultative care to patients with a wide range of neurological diseases in a tertiary care setting.  Our medical students, residents and fellows are given the opportunity to work side-by-side with respected and experienced physician faculty and get exposed to a wide variety of neurological cases, including complex and rare presentations.  Faculty are actively involved in research that is advancing knowledge about how to treat movement disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, cerebrovascular disease and other neurological conditions. Our faculty are widely published in prestigious medical journals, hold offices in national and international societies and have been nationally recognized for their commitment to education.  We are engaged in the highest level of education in a vibrant residency program that trains residents for both academic and nonacademic settings. Our residency program holds a 100% board pass rate for first time test takers for fourteen consecutive years.

Facilities

Neuroscience Center

The Neurosciences Center is a beautiful, 122,000 square foot building that first opened in May of 2018.  It is located on the north campus of ProMedica Toledo Hospital, and represents the professional, world-class care and dedication to the neurosciences that the University of Toledo and ProMedica provide through their affiliation.

Generations TowerToledo Hospital, a 794 bed hospital, is one of the largest hospitals in northwest Ohio.  The Generations Tower, with 13 stories and 309 private rooms, opened to patients in July 2019 and houses neurological patients. The tower is a state-of-the-art facility and allows for various improvements in the patient experience, including convenient parking, private rooms and improved food service. The new space allows for better patient care and communication between care teams with easier access to medicine and supplies, and collaborative meeting areas.
