BENEFITS:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to providing its resident physicians a competitive, cost effective and innovative program of complete benefits. These benefits are a part of the total compensation package provided by the University of Toledo.
Computer Service
Free campus access to the Internet, Medline, Science Citation Index, etc. is provided.
Credit Union
The UT Federal Credit Union offers loans at favorable interest rates, dividends on savings, and payroll deduction
Day Care
UT's Early Learning Center is located near UMC and is available for children 18 months-5 years. A modest operating expense
fee is charged.
Employee Assistance
UT Employee Assistance Program provides confidential and professional assistance to employees and dependents experiencing
problems.
Exercise Facility
An annual allowance of $100 towards fees for the on-campus Morse Center and swimming pool, are provided for the each resident and his/her immediate family.
Health Insurance
Enrollment in health insurance, optical and dental insurance programs is available for the resident and eligible dependents.
Holidays
UT observes ten paid holidays per year: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Insurance
Disability- Long term disability income insurance is provided in the event that a resident becomes totally disabled and can not perform
duties.
Liability- Professional liability insurance is provided for each resident.
Life- $10,000 term life insurance, $10,000 accidental Death and Dismemberment paid by UT. Optional dependent life insurance is
available.
Travel- Accident insurance for residents traveling on behalf of UT.
Meals
All meal charges are discounted. One free meal is provided to each resident for each night on call.
Parking
Residents may park in lots designated specially for employees. The annual fee is only $35 and is pro-rated throughout the
year.
Prescription Plan
UT plan enables you to fill prescriptions through the UT Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy with a dispensing fee of $4 and 20%
of the drug cost.
Professional Membership Fees
Fees are provided for Junior Fellow membership in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Sick Leave
15 days paid sick leave are allotted annually.
Textbook
Each intern is provided with a textbook of their choice.
Travel
Starting in the PGY-2 year, funds are available to help defray the cost of attending an approved educational conference.
Tuition Reimbursement
College graduate studies tuition is waived.
Interns are provided with three white coats and other residents receive one new coat per year (all laundered at UT without charge).
Vacation
PGY-1: 3 weeks; all other residents: 4 weeks.
