Pathology

Accreditation

The Assistant in Pathology program at the University of Toledo is under formal evaluation for PATH A accreditation by the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Currently, the program has been granted “serious applicant status”.  Our initial NAACLS accreditation site visit took place March 1-2, 2018.  The site visitors found that our program met all NAACLS accreditation standards with no deficiencies.  The NAACLS Review Committee for Accredited Programs (RCAP) met on July 13, 2018 to review the site visitors' report.  The RCAP has recommended a full 5-year accreditation for our program.  This RCAP report will be reviewed by the NAACLS Board of Directors at their annual meeting on September 27, 2018, and a final decision on accreditation for our program will be issued in October of 2018.

A full, current listing of NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant programs in North America is available at the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants website.
