Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Welcome to Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Toledo. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is a division of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and is fully accredited. Following completion of our program, we believe our graduates demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to be excellent physiatrists. These goals are achieved through clinical exposure, bedside teaching, formal lectures, journal club, research, and independent study.
The residents currently spend all three years of residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center which also houses the Coghlin Rehabilitation Center. The Rehab Center is a 22 bed unit with the anticipation of additional beds in the near future. Together with the faculty, the Rehab Center has earned CARF accreditation in traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury medicine.
In addition to TBI and SCI, the faculty also specializes in other services including
general rehabilitation, electrodiagnosis, amputee, prosthetics, stroke, musculoskeletal,
spine, and interventional procedures for pain at many different levels. We believe
the diversity of the faculty leads to the development of a well-rounded resident experience.
We invite you to browse our site and learn more about the PM&R residency program and
its related interests.
