Application Requirements |
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR PSYCHIATRY RESIDENCY APPLICANTS
2012-2013
ONLY ERAS APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED
Applications must include the following information to be considered:

Completed ERAS Common Application Form
-
Personal statement
-
Three letters of recommendation from physicians (US letters preferred) dated within the past year. All letters must be on official letterhead.

Official transcript from medical school (must have registrar’s signature and seal)

Dean’s letter
-
Official USMLE transcripts – Preference will be given to candidates with USMLE scores of 195 or greater on Step 1 and Step 2 CK, and those who passed on the first attempt.

Step 2 CS – Candidates must pass on the first attempt.

Candidates who have more than two (2) unsuccessful attempts on Step 1, Step 2 CK or Step 3 will not be considered.

For IMG candidates, passing of Step 3 is recommended, but not required.

Proficiency in written and spoken English

Although US clinical experience is not required, it is preferred
The University of Toledo Psychiatry Residency Program will be sponsoring J-1 Visas only.
We do not offer any externship or observership rotations in the
Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toledo.
