Application Requirements

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR PSYCHIATRY RESIDENCY APPLICANTS

2012-2013 

ONLY ERAS APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED

Applications must include the following information to be considered:

• Completed ERAS Common Application Form
•  Personal statement
• Three letters of recommendation from physicians (US letters preferred) dated within the past year. All letters must be on official letterhead.
• Official transcript from medical school (must have registrar’s signature and seal) 
•  Dean’s letter
• Official USMLE transcripts – Preference will be given to candidates with USMLE scores of 195 or greater on Step 1 and Step 2 CK, and those who passed on the first attempt.
• Step 2 CS – Candidates must pass on the first attempt.
• Candidates who have more than two (2) unsuccessful attempts on Step 1, Step 2 CK or Step 3 will not be considered.
• For IMG candidates, passing of Step 3 is recommended, but not required.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
•  Although US clinical experience is not required, it is preferred 

The University of Toledo Psychiatry Residency Program will be sponsoring J-1 Visas only.  

We do not offer any externship or observership rotations in the
Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toledo.
