The Department of Surgery at The University of Toledo is composed of dynamic clinical and basic science faculty with diverse experience and clinical skills. The Department prides itself on excellence in each of its missions of patient care, research, and education. The clinical faculty offers comprehensive surgical care in General, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Plastic, Pediatric, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Neurologic, Traumatic, Transplant, Emergent and Critical Care disease. Our scientists utilize state-of-the-art laboratories to pioneer approaches which can be rapidly translated into clinical practice. The Department is dedicated to providing high quality surgical education through comprehensive clinical exposure, research at the forefront of medicine, and mentoring of physicians and scientists devoted to their craft. The General Surgery Residency is an integral part of the department and part of The University of Toledo's goal of improving the human condition
