Timeline of Events

April 5, 2017:

The PA program was put on probation by ARC-PA due to leadership issues and insufficient numbers of faculty, self-study practices and explanation of goals and outcomes.

May 1, 2017:

The University moved quickly to address issues raised in April, including hiring three PA-C faculty members who started May 1.

May 15, 2017:

The University submitted its Citation Response Report to ARC-PA in response to the April 5, 2017 citations. 

May 23, 2017:

The University received a letter from ARC-PA accepting the May 15 citation response and requesting additional information to be available during the site visit.

June 19 & 20, 2017:

ARC-PA conducted its site visit.

July 14, 2017:

University received the Site Visitor’s Report from ARC-PA – with 40 observations. 

August 4 2017:

The University submitted responses to the observation document with appendices to ARC-PA. 

October 6, 2017:

ARC-PA notified The University of Toledo that its accreditation for the Physician Assistant training program is being withdrawn, in response to the June 2017 site visit.

November 3, 2017:

The University submitted a 138-page appeal, which included more than 1,600 pages of supporting documentation.

January 22, 2018:

ARC-PA notifies the University that it has reconsidered its Oct. 6 decision to withdraw accreditation and instead has decided to keep the program on Accreditation-Probation status.
