Department of Biological Sciences

Outstanding Undergraduate Student Awards

There are two possible recognitions of excellence for seniors in The Department of Biological Sciences: 1) Selection as Outstanding Graduating Senior and Dean's Medalist nominee for recognition as the outstanding student from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and 2) Selection for the high academic achievement (highest GPA) award.

Each spring the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics requests nominations from each department for consideration as the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Undergraduate. Nominations are based on GPA, meritorious activities, honors and awards, and future career plans. Each departmental nominee is recognized with the Dean's Medal Award at a special Natural Sciences and Mathematics awards and recognition ceremony. One student is selected as the Outstanding NSM Undergraduate Award.
