2016 Fall Public Lecture Series Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Lake Erie Center in room 155. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Jeanine Refsnider, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences. Her talk is titled "Can Reptiles Survive Climate Change?" Please join us.

2016 Fall Public Lecture Series Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Lake Erie Center in room 155. Our guest speaker for this event is Dr. Amanda Haponski, Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Michigan. The title of her talk is “Past, present, and future of Lake Erie walleye: A genetics perspective.” Come join us.

2016 Fall Lecture Series will kick-off on September 15 at 7 p.m. at the Lake Erie Center in room 155. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Timothy Fisher, Interim Director of the Lake Erie Center, Departmental Chair for Environmental Sciences and Professor of Geology. His talk is titled "Coastal Sand Dunes in the Great Lakes Region." Come join us as Dr. Fisher discusses the geographical distribution of sand dunes around parts of the Great Lakes, why they are mostly absent from western Lake Erie, what dunes can tell us about past water levels in the Great Lakes basins, and how the study of vegetation on coastal sand dunes in Indiana contributed to the concept of ecological succession.
2016 LEC Mini Summer Science Camp for Kids- Tuesday, August 9, 9:00 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost is $40-camp was full.

2016 REU Poster Show- Afternoon featuring UT's National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Students to showcase their research conducted over the 9 week sponsored REU program. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 2-4 in the LEC lobby. Refreshments will be served.

2016 Naturalist Night- Featuring UT graduate student, Sara Guiher on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 7 p.m. her talk is titled "Neighborhood watch: learn to identify and manage invasive plants in your yard." Come learn more about this engaging topic and how to help prevent the spread of invasive plants in our region.

2016 Toledo Lucas County Public Library Ready to Read Program's van will be at the LEC on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit the literacy van to signup for library cards and to check out library materials. The Ready to Read Program is an outreach literacy program that provides training to parents to aid in preparing children, birth to preschool, for kindergarten. 2016 LEC Summer Science Camp for Kids-Week long camp June 13-17 from 9 a.m.-Noon.

2016 Naturalist Night- We are kicking off our 2016 Naturalist Series with Marquita Tillotson of Nature's Nursery on Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m. This is a kid friendly event and will feature live animals and animal artifacts. Great family fun...come join us!

2016 LEC Alumni and Friends (FOLEC) Celebration, April 21, 2016, starting at 6 p.m. in the LEC Lobby, light refreshments will be served.
