River of Shame - Questionnaire
1)List 3 inorganic and 3 organic pollutants that your business contributes to the stream system.
2)Define point and nonpoint source pollutants and give 5 examples for the businesses in this demonstration.
3)Which pollutants did your company contribute the most of? How do these pollutants affect the environment?
4)What is an impermeable surface and how do these impact the watershed ecosystem? What did your business have for an impermeable surface?
5)Did this assignment change your view of the impacts businesses have on waterways? If so, how?
6)Most businesses contribute a significant amount of pollution to the watershed ecosystem. Based on this lesson you have seen the specific effects that multiple types of businesses can have. What aspects of your business would you change to decrease its impacts?
