Scout Programs

Ritter Planetarium underwent a major renovation in the summer of 2011, including the installation of a new SciDome XD video projection system. The first of its kind ever installed, the SciDome XD will allow Ritter to take you from your own backyard to distant galaxies using the new state of the art projection system (capable of displaying over 6 million pixels on the surface of the dome). Combined with new carpeting and seating, new displays in the lobby, and a new 5.1 surround sound system, the Ritter Planetarium is fully updated for the 21st century and is ready to provide fun, educational, and engaging experiences for you and your children. Make your reservations now to be one of the first to see this unique and powerful system!

Throughout the year, Ritter Planetarium offers specialized programs for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts & Brownies. These programs not only assist scouts in completing astronomy requirements, but also inspire them to stargaze in the future.
