EXCITING RECENT RENOVATIONS!
Ritter Planetarium recently underwent major renovations, including the installation of a new SciDome XD video projection system. The first of its kind ever installed, the SciDome XD will allow Ritter to take you from your own backyard to distant galaxies using the new state of the art projection system (capable of displaying over 6 million pixels on the surface of the dome). Combined with new carpeting and seating, new displays in the lobby, and a new 5.1 surround sound system, the Ritter Planetarium is fully updated for the 21st century and is ready to provide fun, educational, and engaging experiences for you and your children. Make your reservations now to be one of the first to see this unique and powerful system!
Throughout the year, Ritter Planetarium offers specialized programs for Boy Scouts,
Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts & Brownies. These programs not only assist scouts in completing
astronomy requirements, but also inspire them to stargaze in the future. Our scout
programs for spring 2013 are:
- Boy Scout Merit Badge Program
Saturday, May 18, 2013 @ 6:30 PM
Based on updated guidelines from the Boy Scouts and utilizing our new state-of-the-art projection system and a custom series of worksheets, this two hour program will give participants all of the information and experience needed to earn their merit badge (although they will have to make a few observation in the days after the program). Observing at the Brooks Observatory follows, weather permitting. Reservations, usually on the troop level, are required. The fee is $12 per person, including adults.

Cub Scout and Brownies Astronomy/Space Science Program
Check back this summer for the Fall 2013 datesThis two hour program (with an intermission) features a fulldome planetarium programs utilizing our new state-of-the-art projection system along with an interactive tour of the nigh time sky and a live program meeting all of the guidelines for Cub Scouts and Brownies. Solar observing, weather permitting, is also included. Reservations, usually on the troop level, are required. The fee is $10 per person, including adults.

Girl Scout Space Exploration Ribbon Program
Check back this summer for the Fall 2013 dates
