Vice President of Enrollment Management and Online Education
Director of Learning and Academic Technology
Justin has been involved with administering the technology infrastructure that supports UT’s online learning operation since 2004. Along with over 15 years of experience working with business and enterprise technology, he holds a bachelor’s and master’s in business administration. Justin is a native of northwest Ohio where he lives with his family of five. In his free time he likes to run, watch Rocket football and play with his three children.
Director of New Student Orientation Programs
Adam is a two-time graduate of The University of Toledo, earning a B.A. in Communication and a M.Ed. in Higher Education. He joined UT as a full-time staff member in January of 2006 as a Recruiter/Advisor in what was then the College of Arts & Sciences. Adam has been with the Office of New Student Orientation programs since May, 2011. He has a passion for working with both new and current UT students. Adam is a married father of two beautiful young daughters (undoubtedly future Rockets).
Director of Enrollment Operations
Nancy was born in Pittsburgh but having lived in Toledo most of her life has adopted it as her home town. She has a managerial background and has been with The University of Toledo over 20 years supervising the team that processes undergraduate admission applications. She has been very involved in system implementations and has worked hard to establish and fine-tune procedures to ensure efficient application processing thus positively impacting our incoming students. Outside of work Nancy likes to read and take walks with her dog but her favorite thing to do in her spare time is to spend time with her family, especially her two adorable granddaughters.
Sue Ann Hochberg, J.D., R.N.
Director of Program Development, Compliance, and Assessment
Sue Ann received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami. She worked as a nurse, attorney, nonprofit executive, and educator. She also worked for the Mayor of the City of Toledo and clerked for a United States Circuit Court Judge. Sue Ann has been with the University of Toledo since 2006. She is responsible for investigating the development of 100% online programs and degrees, compliance with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to online learning, and departmental assessment. Sue Ann is one of an elite community of graduates of the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning, a national post-graduate certificate program co-sponsored by Pennsylvania State University World Campus and the Online Learning Consortium (OLC). She is the mother of two young adults; a son and a daughter. She is a canoeist, cyclist, and adventurer.
Finance Director for Division of Enrollment Management and Online Education & Division of External Affairs
Joanne is a CPA and has over 25 years finance related experience. She enjoys golf, boating, and spending time with family and friends.
Barb Kopp Miller, Ph.D
Associate Provost for Online Education and Administrative Director of the Center for Successful Aging
Since earning a master’s degree and graduate certificate in gerontology in 1990 and a Ph.D. in 1995 from Bowling Green State University, Barbara has developed as a social psychologist and gerontologist at the University of Toledo. She is currently the Associate Provost for Online Education, the Executive Associate Dean for Research and Quality in the College of Social Justice and Human Service and the Administrative Director of the Center for Successful Aging. She has been at the University for 22 years. Barbara provides service to the community through a variety of organizations. She is currently on the Board for Sunset Retirement Communities, Great Lakes Collaborative for Autism, Good Grief of Northwest Ohio and the Catharine S. Eberly Center. Barbara enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage son.
Director of Online Admission and Student Services
Shannon Neumann is the Director of Online Admission and Student Services. Previously Shannon was the Director of Enrollment Management for MyCollege Foundation in Denver, Colorado. Her passion for online education started at Ivy Bridge College as one of the first five employees to join the Ivy Bridge team, assisting in the implementing of systems and development of all processes and procedures in the start-up environment. During her time at Ivy Bridge she developed a team that successfully increased enrollment from 32 to over 3,000 students in less than two years, along with assisting in the recruitment, hiring, and training of over one hundred full-time employees. She has nearly ten years of experience in higher education focusing on admissions and utilizing analytical skills to effectively grow enrollment. Shannon thrives in a positive team environment and loves to bring a little humor into the work environment. She has a master’s in business administration-leadership from Tiffin University. Shannon shared, “From the first day I arrived at The University of Toledo I could feel the Rocket pride from every staff, faculty, and administrator. This campus is truly committed to student success in every capacity and I’m thrilled to be part of such an amazing University. Go Rockets!”
Director of Undergraduate Admission
William is a two-time graduate of The University of Toledo. He has a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Services, Master of Business Administration, and is currently working to complete a PhD in Higher Education Administration. He has been with The University of Toledo professionally for 13 years serving in a variety of roles in Undergraduate Admission. He has also served as director of admission and scholarships for Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska; and as director of BBA admission for the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is an avid sports fan, and enjoys cheering on the Rockets. In his spare time William enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with his wife and four daughters.
Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services and Financial Aid
Originally from Ohio, Steve moved to Toledo from San Diego to accept his position at UT. Before coming to Toledo, he has enjoyed many years of helping students as a bursar and a one stop director. He achieved his Bachelors in Accounting and Masters in Interdisciplinary Education at universities in Ohio. Steve has served as a member of the board of a large Ohio credit union as well as serving on several national committees for bursars, one stop’s, and ERP systems. He has two children and two grandchildren, all residing in Ohio. His hobbies include reading, exercising, bowling, traveling with his wife, Carol, and playing with his granddaughters.
Director of International Admission
Mark has been with Enrollment Services since joining the University in 2002. Mark has worked with UT's veteran, transfer, adult, and high school populations before taking over his current responsibilities leading UT's international expansion efforts. He is an avid photographer and a big supporter of UT Athletics.
Director of Faculty Services and Help Desk
Lansing, Lance as he is known to nearly everyone, has been with UT online education since December 2000. Prior to 2000 he held various management positions in Information Technology. Lance began his career as a computer programmer at UT. He is a Toledo native and holds two UT degrees. Lance resides in Maumee, and enjoys spending time with his pets—three dogs, Karma, Rami and Maya, and Morti, the cat.
Director of Instructional Design and Development
Peter joined the university as an instructional designer in 2002. He has been involved in the fields of Instructional Design and Technology, and Online Learning for over a dozen years. He enjoys working with faculty and designers in a team developing online and blended courses and conducting faculty development workshops regarding Quality Matters and best practices of online learning. He also has taught undergraduate courses and integrated effective pedagogies and technologies into his courses.
Peter You holds a Master of Science in Instructional Technology, a Master of Education in Higher Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration on Educational Media. His research interests include online learning environment design, online faculty development, and integrating technology into teaching and learning. Dr. You has presented in several professional conferences such as AECT International Convention, Global Awareness Society International, Ohio Learning Network, Quality Matters, and World Conference on E-Learning.
In his spare time, Peter is involved in his community and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
