A. Management participates in the standard setting process.

  1. Are personnel experienced in government affairs hired and trained?
  2. Has a process been implemented to ensure compliance with rules and regulations regarding lobbying?
  3. Has a formal code of conduct been communicated to all appropriate personnel that address ethical and expected actions in this area?
  4. Are management and/or board of trustee approval required of donations and lobbying efforts?
  5. Is regulatory and other government information monitored and changes or developments communicated to appropriate personnel?
  6. Are industry or trade organizations joined that lobby legislative or regulatory bodies?
  7. Is management engaged to speak publicly about industry issues?
  8. Are opportunities pursued to serve on government standard setting boards or advisory committees?
  9. Is management required to prepare responses to requests for public feedback on proposed standards?
