Elementary/Basic Chinese

Basic Chinese (Level I & II)
(Non-credit Course for Beginners)
Time: Monday 18:30-20:00
Dates: January 23rd through April 2nd, 2012 (10 sessions, no class on March 5th)
Location: 1160 Snyder Memorial, Main Campus.
Cost: $200 (per level)
- parking fee not included
- complimentary pocket dictionary, textbook and materials
- certificate upon completion of the course
- 50 % discount for UT staff and faculty and previous students
(Free for UT students enrolled in Chinese classes in foreign language department)
Course Description: This is a two-semester course for two levels designed for those who have no or very little knowledge of Chinese. The course teaches pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar fundamentals as essential elements in reading, writing, and understanding elementary Chinese. It also covers basic knowledge of Chinese culture and history, an indispensable part of studying the Chinese language.
