Faculty Appointments to Board Committees

Recognizing the faculty as a key stakeholder and resource, the Board of Trustees approved Resolution No. 09-08-18 at their September 21, 2009 meeting to appoint faculty representatives to Board Committees. This decision was based on Board recognition of the value of faculty input on matters pertinent to the respective Board Committees, consistent with the specific Committee Charges and aligned with DIRECTIONS 2011: Strategic Plan of The University of Toledo.

The Faculty Senate President serves as a member of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee of the Board.

Recommendations are now being accepted from any appropriate stakeholder, including but not limited to faculty, students, staff and administrators, for appointment of a faculty member to the following Board Committees:

• Audit Committee
• Clinical Affairs Committee
• External Affairs Committee
• Finance Committee

Faculty nominations should be continuing, full-time members of the University faculty to include tenured, tenure track, or full-time instructional personnel who have renewable term appointments. Self submissions will also be accepted.

All nominations will be reviewed by the Chair of the Trusteeship & Governance Committee, the University President, and the President of the Faculty Senate. Committee faculty representatives will be appointed by the Board of Trustees Chair to begin membership July 1 for a one-year term.
