The Governor of Ohio appointed Carroll L. Ashley to the Medical University of Ohio Board of Trustees in 2002. Mr. Ashley currently serves as Board Secretary and as a member of the Clinical Affairs Committee and Finance Committee.
Mr. Ashley is the principal at The Ashley Insurance Group, specializing in employer sponsored health benefits, individual insurance and financial investments, assisting families and business owners with the growth and protection of their assets. He has offices located in Maumee and Sandusky, Ohio.
Mr. Ashley previously served as President and CEO of Riverside Hospital, President of Medical Mutual Services, Inc. and President of NorthCoast Health Plan. Mr. Ashley is actively involved in the community and currently serves as a Board member and past chair of the Ohio Council of Community Schools and as an Advisor of New Hope Foundation. He is a Board member and past chair of the Toledo Cultural Arts Commission and serves on several boards of private companies.
He received a bachelor's degree in human resources in 1978 and a master's degree in finance in 1981, both from UT.
Ashley is married to Dorothy and they have five children and nine grandchildren.
