Mr. Joseph C. High was appointed to the UT Board of Trustees in 2009. He is a retired Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Owens Corning. In this role, he was reponsible for the global human resources function, including safety and community relations.
Mr. High is a Trustee of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, a life member of the Greater Toledo Urban League and NAACP. He is a Board member of Outward Bound USA and a member of the HR Policy Association, Executive Leadership Council and Society for Human Resource Management attaining senior level certification. For his work with United Way, he received a Distinguished Service Award, and in March 2009, he received the Mayor's Key to the City in recognition of his leadership.
Mr. High is a former Trustee for the Council of Ethics in Economics and a former member of the Business for Social Responsibility and the National Skills Standards Board Steering Committee.
High earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his Master of Science Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.
Mr. High is married to Kathleen and they have three children.
