Hedyeh Elahinia (2019)

elahiniaHedyeh Elahinia was appointed to The University of Toledo Board of Trustees by Governor John Kasich in July 2017. She is a member of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee.

Hedyeh Elahinia is a Junior in the UT Honors College. She is studying Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a neuroscience concentration. During her time at UT, she has been involved with such groups as the UT Muslim Students’ Association, taking a freshman year board position and assuming its co-presidency in the 2016-2017 academic year. During her with work the MSA, she was able to work for and with the community, organizing such events as Seven Stories and various social-justice-based campaigns. The organization and its efforts gained recognition on the local and national levels and was named the #1 Parks Outstanding Organization of the year. She is also involved with SOS for Syria, UT Connect (connected.mit.edu), and is an organizer for the UT Biodesign Challenge.

Hedyeh loves meeting passionate people. She wants to work in a field where she can use the arts and sciences to alleviate social problems. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and being outdoors.
