    Research Abroad Program

        Research Abroad
        Scope: university-wide

    Awards will be announced within three weeks after receipt of the proposal and supporting materials.

    The Research Abroad proposal description and cover page can be downloaded through these links. The proposal and supporting materials can be mailed (post or electronically) to OUR-UT.

     

     

    PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

    DEADLINE: The awards will be made on a continuous basis.

    Research Project Proposal Procedure:

    • Select a research adviser (either at UT or at your abroad institution)
    • Submit a three - five page proposal describing in detail the research/creative activity project and estimated costs.  The submitted proposal can be in MS Word, LaTeX, Wordperfect, or pdf format.
    • Submit your UT transcript (or if a transfer student, also include your transcript(s) from your former institution(s)).
    • Request a letter of support from your faculty research adviser be sent to OUR-UT.


    PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

    The participant must:

    • be a registered UT student.
    • have undergraduate student status through the end of the proposed research semester.
    • submit a Final Report (edited by their faculty research adviser) to the Office of Undergraduate Research no later than the end of Fall Semester 2008.
    • deliver a presentation (department, honors, and/or special) describing the project when they return to UT.

    The participant is also encouraged to present their work at a regional and/or national conference and if appropriate, submit their work for external publication.

    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

    Travel & Supplies: $variable

    The Office of Undergraduate Research is interested in providing funds to help facilitate undergraduate research projects undertaken while studying abroad.

    These funds could help with local travel and/or supplies expenses while abroad to nearby research facilities, museums, libraries, and/or other facilities.  Note that these funds are not meant to fund your primary travel from Toledo to your other institution.
