    I have a position coming open for a UT student majoring in biology, environmental sciences, or chemistry. Must not be graduating before December 2007. Must have a 3.2 gradepoint or above and excellent resume/CV. Will pay $4000 summer stipend for 40 hours and $1000 fall stipend for 40 hours per week/10 weeks summer and 15/week hours fall semester at the Lake Erie Center. Can take independent research units simultaneously. Work is independent research project on population genetics of the bighead goby in Eurasia. Will train. Research involves DNA sequencing and microsatellite analysis. Work is funded by an NSF REU supplement to my master NSF grant. Student will receive co-authorship on a major publication, training, stipend, and travel to present at a scientific conference. Must be US citizen. Must apply with NSF -formatted resume (see www.nsf.gov for Program Guidelines), cover letter, and interview with me and my laboratory by January 1, 2007.
