Computer Software Specialist Workplace Certificate
The Computer Software Specialist Certificate focuses on the software applications used by today’s office professionals. Employers increasingly have a need for employees who know the latest office technologies and can apply this knowledge to producing highly effective workplace communications. You will also be prepared to test to become a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS). All courses for this certificate are online.
This certificate is offered by the College of Business and Innovation, Applied Organizational Technology department, and earned credits may be applied towards a degree in the field. This department certificate is an excellent way to better prepare yourself for the changing workplace.

|CMPT 1410||Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Applications: Hands-on analysis of the use of Excel spreadsheets in solving workplace problems with an emphasis on the design of templates to meet the needs of specific applications.||None||2|
|CMPT 1420||Microsoft Access Database Applications: Hands-on analysis of the use of Access in solving workplace problems with an emphasis on the entering, updating, manipulating, storing and retrieving of information.||None||2|
|CMPT 1430||Microsoft Word: MS Word will teach students word processing concepts and applications using industry standard software. Students will prepare a variety of documents and master basic software functions in an effective and efficient manner.||None||2|
|CMPT 1440||Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations: Students will learn basic to advanced features of PowerPoint software from creating a presentation and adding graphics to presenting a slide show and integrating PowerPoint with other software.||None||2|
|CMPT 2410||Adobe InDesign Desktop Publishing: This course will use Adobe InDesign to enable the student to learn the elements of the publishing cycle: writing, editing, typesetting, design, graphic production, page makeup and final publication. Newsletters, brochures, pamphlets and fliers will be produced.||None||3|
