Web Design Workplace Certificate
In today’s workplace virtually every organization has a Web site. The Web Design Certificate program gives you the fundamental skills in web page development and maintenance. You will learn leading graphics and animation software applications and how they are used to design, create and maintain Web sites. Career opportunities in Web design are plentiful. All courses for this certificate are online.
This certificate is offered by the College of Business and Innovation, Applied Organizational Technology department, and earned credits may be applied towards a degree in the field. This department certificate is an excellent way to better prepare yourself for the changing workplace.

|CMPT 1320||Internet and World Wide Web: Topics include history of the Internet, IP addressing, World Wide Web, HTML, XHTML, and CSS. Students will learn the history and functionality of the Internet and create a two-page website using XHTML and CSS.||None||1|
|CMPT 1400||DreamWeaver Web Page Development: Using DreamWeaver students will learn how to plan and develop a successful Web site, organize page content, format Web sites using CSS styles, produce dynamic Web pages and add animation using rich media and reusable assets and forms.||None||3|
|CMPT 1500||Flash Web Animation: Students will learn entry-level web animation using Adobe Flash. Students will learn to create an animated business card, websites, actions script special effects. movies, buttons and navigation.||None||3|
|CMPT 1600||Internet Design and Publishing: This course offers a broad overview and extensive practical experience in the design and production of Web pages. Students learn current Web design technology and create Web pages using Microsoft Expression Web.||None||3|
|CMPT 1700||Blogging and Social Networking: This course offers a broad overview and extensive practical experience in the design and production of web sites containing podcasts, vodcasts, and bloggs. Students will learn how to plan, record, edit, and publish.||None||3|
|CMPT 2620||Web Site Maintenance: This course develops skills for students who will function as Web developers or project managers responsible for increasing Web site traffic, updating Web content and designs. Students learn planning issues related to Web design and redesign.||None||3|
