Endorsement in Preschool Special Needs Online

The University of Toledo’s Preschool Special Needs Endorsement (PSNE) program is designed around the competencies identified by the Ohio Board of Regents/Department of Education. The online PSNE provides teachers with the foundational courses and field experiences necessary to work effectively and successfully with preschool aged children with disabilities in a variety of settings.

Students seeking an endorsement in Preschool Special Needs must hold a current Ohio teaching license in K-12 Intervention Specialist (mild/moderate or moderate/intensive) or Early Childhood Education (PK-3). By adding this endorsement, individuals can teach in a school district-sponsored preschool special needs classroom or serve as itinerant preschool teachers serving young children with disabilities.
Students who pursue this endorsement hold a current Ohio teaching license as an Intervention Specialist or in Early Childhood Education. The Ohio PSNE endorsement broadens their career opportunities by allowing them teach a preschool special needs classroom.
