Erin Thompson
Public Affairs Specialist, Social Security Administration
B.S., Criminal Justice, Summa Cum Laude, The University of Toledo, Toledo, OH
A.S., Law Enforcement Technology, High Honors, Owens Community College, Toledo, OH
Erin Thompson, a native of Toledo, joined the Social Security Administration in 2001 upon graduation from The University of Toledo. She started her career as a claims representative, specializing in retirement, survivors, disability, and health insurance. Erin was promoted in 2004 as a public affairs specialist and is the primary contact for media relations, outreach, and presentations for the agency in the Toledo area. You can listen to Erin live on "Social Security and You," a call in show that is featured on the first Tuesday of every month on WPOS 102.3 FM.
Erin is a member of TRIAD Council, a board through the Area Office on Aging that focuses on senior issues--mainly crime prevention and awareness concerns. Erin is also a member of the Inter-Agency Law Enforcement Network through the Better Business Bureau, COPE- an organization protecting the elderly, Re-entry Coalition, and NOGA (Northwest Ohio Gerontological Association).
