Emily Creamer currently is the assistant director for engineering transfer program in the College of Engineering. She has been with the University of Toledo since 2006 except for a year she spent with the School of Education at the University of Michigan. Emily has earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Education both from the University of Toledo. Emily is involved in the local YMCA as a group exercise instructor, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio as a troop leader and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. At UT, she is an active member on the Professional Staff Counsel, the Toledo Academic Advising Association (TACADA), Internal Transfer Advisory Board (ITAB), Academic Liaison Group and University Women’s Commission. Emily is actively involved in the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) with involvement in the STEM Advising Commission, the Non-traditional Advising Commission and the Distance Learning Advising Commission. She has presented at the 2015 annual NACADA conference in Las Vegas where she was one of three presenters out of over 300 who was recognized for her presentation on adult student and math anxiety. She also presented at the 2015 NACADA Region 5 on adult students and math anxiety. Emily’s professional and research interests include non-traditional students, mental health and college students, math anxiety, advising in STEM fields and the link between recruitment and retention.
