Alana Malik joined the Council in 2019 and served as the PSC Treasurer. 

As the University Assessment Director, Malik oversees the assessment of student learning in academic and co-curricular programs. She also facilitates professional development opportunities for faculty and staff members, designed to help them integrate best practices in assessment into their work. In addition, she serves as a member of the Higher Learning Commission’s Peer Corps, and as a member volunteer for the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education. Prior to her current role at UT, Malik served as the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Staffing and Training from 2008-2013.

Malik majored in Speech Communications and Music at Albion College, Albion MI, received an MA in Student Development from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and earned her PhD in Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University. Previous to joining UT, she worked for eight years at BGSU in various roles within student housing and fraternity and sorority affairs.

In her free time, Malik is an avid curler and a member of the Bowling Green Curling Club and the United States Women’s Curling Association. She especially loves curling with her husband Tony, and is patiently waiting for her daughters to be old enough to play as well.
